Firefighter Saves Girl
Santa Rosa firefighter Don Lopez grabs a sapling after diving into Matanzas Creek in Santa Rosa to rescue Marglyn Paseka, 15, from the flooding water. Paseka and a girlfriend were trying to navigate the creek using a garbage can as a boat. The other girl was rescued within five minutes, but a rapid water rescue team had to save Paseka who was trapped in the water for 45 minutes.  (Photo by Annie Wells, The Press Democrat, Santa Rosa, CA.)
